Northern Illinois University - Enduring Hope!

As'salaam Aleykum Wa Rahmat Ullah (Peace Be Upon You and Mercy from Allah) & Hello,

I am sure that each and every one of us has, at some
point in his or her life, been visited by grief,
tragedy, or tremendous loss, emotionally or materially. We can never know what those Students who've suffered an on-campus shooting are going through. However, we empathize and our hearts go out to you, and those of your class-mates who've lost their lives yesterday (2/14/2008). Though we may not be able to fully relate, we can all draw on experiences from our own lives. It may have been a serious illness or accident or
death of a loved one, or we may have failed an important
examination, or we may have seen a professional career which has grown and prospered over many years, finally come to an abrupt end.

To those who have suffered such losses and a tragic loss similar to the ones at Virgina Tech, and now - sadly, Northern Illinois University, their feelings are hard to describe adequately.

One can never understand, as a member of the Human race, how such evil can exist - but as a Muslim(s) and people existing on this earth collectively, we know that with-out darkness we may not know Light!

Let us consider Prophet Ayyub's example, which appears in
Sura Al- Anbiyya, v. 83 and 84:

"And (remember) Ayyub when he cried to his Lord "Truly
distress has seized me but You are the Most Merciful
of those that are merciful."

So we call upon our Creator to ease our sufferings and make this tragedy a means of coming closer to Him - azza wa jall. We ask our Creator to help us understand such horrific, mindless acts and learn from them (if ever). Though we may be from various religious, socio-economic backgrounds we share one commonality - Hope! Hope for mankind and our world to be better than it is now. Hope that this will be the time of standing for peace, harmony, and justice for All people.

Hadeeth-

Hafsah bint Seereen (r.a.):
"O young people, utilize your youthfulness. Indeed I have seen people who have eyes yet are blind; O young people, employ time in that which may benefit you in the hereafter."

The future is ours (with God's permission) we are the leaders of tomorrow, now is the time to exhaust our efforts (both physically and mentally) to be the change we want in this world!

To those who've lost their lives in the recent Northern Illinois University slaying, you are in my thoughts, well-wishes and prayers.

Sincerely,

Concerning Our Brother Shiraz

As Salamu alaikum wa Rahmatu Allah wa Barakatuh,

Brother Shiraz's hearing is this upcoming Thursday, May 17th at 8:30am.

An-Nisaa': "O you who believe! Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah, even though it be against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, be he rich or poor, Allah is a Better Protector to both (than you). So follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest you may avoid justice, and if you distort your witness or refuse to give it, verily, Allah is Ever WellAcquainted with what you do." (4:125)

It is pertinent that we support our brother in Islam, please make it a priority to attend.

It will be in the same building in downtown @ 515 Rusk St., Houston TX 77002.

The Mastermind behind 9/11?

This comes as somewhat of a surprise, news of his confession. However, I am hesitant to easily believe the sudden spirit in which alleged 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is giving up this information. Why now, why not sooner and the laundry list of attacks and deaths they accuse this individual of are never-ending.

The list includes things such as, the death of Daniel Pearl, 1993 attack on the World Trade Center, March 11, 2004 train bombings in Madrid and the July 2005 attacks in London.

I can go on...read for yourself.

Suspect....eh?

Know of anyone Interested?

Re: Viewer Enquiry Contact Us Submission (KMM234992V78341L0KM)

Thank you for your email regarding DISPATCHES: Undercover Mosque and
apologise for the delay in replying.

This film is the result of a 12-month investigation into a number of
mosques run by high profile national organisations that claim to be
dedicated to moderation and dialogue with other faiths.

The film does not suggest that the hardline and intolerant views
revealed are shared by the majority of British muslims; on the contrary, it
contains voices from moderate, liberal muslims who put these matters
into context and explain why the British public, whether Muslim or
non-Muslim, should be concerned about the influence of the views expressed by
the speakers featured in the programme.

Thanks you again for your contact and be assured that your comments
have been noted and forwarded to those responsible for the acquistion and
production of programmes.

Letter to UK Channel 4, Re:Dispatches

To Whom It May Concern:

As a Muslim first and foremost, I am gravely offended by the content of this so called "Undercover Investigation" done on the various Mosques in and around the UK. In an effort to spread fear and incite hatred toward the Muslims, you've unjustly and unfairly reported events and topics discussed by leaders of the Muslim community with-out just cause, and for the most part, inaccuracies. Firstly, know that the statements made in the documented footage have been severely cut, copied and pasted together- as you are well aware. If it were your sincere intention to know the true face of Islam then why not simply contact the necessary individuals for a real interview? More over, and in particular at present there is much rage and anger being directed toward the Islamic faith and its followers, Muslims collectively are taking the necessary strides to undo much of the damage that has been caused. Secondly, speaking as an American whose faith promotes service to mankind, and obedience to ones country, I find it rather illogical that you depict the Islamic faith as one in which intolerance and disunity amongst our Non-Muslim countrymen are the order of the day. Far removed is this from the truth and the reality of Islam. In addition, it has become abundantly clear that this investigation is the result of your own personal prejudices toward Islam, and Muslims collectively. I am disgusted that innocent Muslims are being debased and their true moral and ethical principles are being questioned. Please be fair in your investigations, and do not presume that the people will sit by idle while their brethren are depicted in such a vulgar light. Stop practicing double standards, and fueling hatred! Your job is to report the news accurately and truthfully. I ask you as a concerned Muslim and American.
